Nurtured by Design Inc. announces the launch of the first 2012 giving campaign aimed at providing devices that facilitate evidence-based developmental care around the clock (two Zakys and one Kangaroo Zak) to the first babies born in 2012 that are admitted to a NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) in each State of the US and each country outside the USA.

We want to bring in the new year with providing comfort to families dealing with a premature birth,” says Yamile Jackson, PhD, PE, PMP, Founder and CEO of Nurtured by Design. “With the proceeds of sales, our company routinely gives Zakys and Kangaroo Zaks to NICUs in need around the world, On Behalf of Zachary (OBOZ). We support families and babies by providing NICUs with tools that facilitate evidence-based developmentally supportive and family-centered care around the clock to convalescent babies.”

Who wins?

  • The entry form (below) with the earliest official LOCAL DATE/TIME OF BIRTH in 2012
  • We will select the winner from the entries to our contest (it doesn't have to the the Official first baby of the State, just the first baby that is registered in our contest)
  • One in each of the States of the USA, and one in each country outside the USA
  • The Zakys and Kangaroo Zak must be shipped to NICU to the nurse/medical director and given to the baby and family to use in the NICU to provide evidence-based developmentally supportive and family centered care around the clock - and to take home

Who can submit the entry form?

  • Any adult (parent, family, friend, staff, etc) may submit the form below on behalf of the baby that is born in 2012 and immediately admitted to a NICU.
  • If you are not the parent, consent (click for a sample) must be signed before submitting the entry form to avoid HIPPA violations.
  • The name of the baby is not asked
  • Entries are limited to the submission of the form below. No other types of submissions are accepted.
  • Entry forms will be accepted between January 1st and your local time 11:59pm on January 7th, 2012.

The Gift/Prize on Behalf of Zachary

  • Each winner will receive via email a coupon code for the amount equal to two Zakys and one Kangaroo Zak (expiration date of January 31st, 2012) to be redeemed in our online store.
